Juli has found a WONDERFULLY new and easy way to have a web page just “chock full” of pictures—which is what we’re all really interested in anyways, right?
ShutterFly—an on-line photo web service—offers FREE web pages and we’ve built one. And it looks pretty durned good, if I do say so myself …
You might want to print this out—I’ve found it’s easier to read from directions while you’re doing the assigned task.
So, here’s how you get to the web site. You go to: http://www.shutterfly.com and you join as a FREE member—make sure you check the boxes that tell them you DO NOT want any additional information sent to you from them or their “partners” … you’ll give yourself a User ID (I’d use my name) and select a password … then close out of that. (PS … I like Shutterfly and do not order prints from them—only use it to post pictures to family, etc.—and they do occasionally send you free things to get and I’ve taken them up on most all of them and they ARE quality products—FYI)
Then go to our ‘68 web site address:
http://cbhsclassof68pictures.site.shutterfly.com/
It’ll say that it’s a PRIVATE SITE … next line will give you the SIGN IN … so go ahead and sign in—then it’ll say that you need to be invited by the Owner (that’s me) - and I’ll get an email from ShutterFly saying you’re requesting to access the web site—I’ll reply and then you’re IN!!
Give it a 1/2 day to a full day before you try to get in again—as it depends on when I’m doing email and when I reply … then go to this site again:
http://cbhsclassof68pictures.site.shutterfly.com/
You’ll see the PRIVATE SITE note again—but click on SIGN IN—and then you’ll be taken directly to the web site … be sure and log your info (ID and Password) so you can always get to the site.
I’ve got everyone signed up to receive WEEKLY notices about the site—for now—once I get it loaded with pictures and am pretty much done with that—I’ll switch everyone to MONTHLY. Then when you get a notice—you can visit the site and see how it’s looking!
ENJOY! I think this will work out just fine … we will, of course, keep this site also (it’s paid up for 10 years) so we’ll have this to fall back on—if need be.
THANKS!!!
